Although the NHVOA Assignor will assign some sub-varsity matches during the season, it is the responsibility of an apprentice to contact athletic directors to secure games. The Assignor will provide apprentices with a list of schools that have their matches assigned by the assignor.
Officials who successfully pass the apprentice program are placed on probationary status for one year. The volleyball assignor will assign matches to patched officials.
First-year officials will be assigned a rating of 2 (on a scale of 1-10) which will be used to assign matches in the first year. An officials rating and probationary status will be reviewed and may adjusted at the end of the season.
Failure at any step of the apprentice program will result in reapplying to the program.
