Article I: Membership Requirements
 
1. Attend a Rules Interpretation Meeting once a year.
    a. The meetings will be held the first and third Sunday in August.
 
2. Pass the written Federation Volleyball exam with a score of 80% or better.
    a. If a passing grade is not achieved, another test will be sent to the official for successful completion.
    b. The test must be mailed to the Rules Interpreter by September 1.
 
3. Pay annual dues, which will be equal to the sum of one (1) varsity match.
    a. Annual dues must be mailed to the Secretary / Treasurer by January 1.
    b There will be a $10.00 late fee if a member fails to pay by January 1st and the member’s name will not be printed on the membership list that is sent to the Athletic Directors.
    c. All dues / fees must by paid by March 1.
 
4. No soliciting of games by members of this Association.
 
5. Members knowingly working NHIAA games with a non-rated, inactive or suspended official, shall officiate the game, then report it to the Supervisor of Officials for appropriate action.
 
6. Mail peer evaluation forms to Supervisor of officials.
    a. Evaluation forms must be mailed to the Supervisor by December 1.
    b. Failure to mail the forms on time will mean a reduction in rating for the member.
    c. Evaluation forms are to be filled out for NHIAA varsity and club matches governed by National  Federation Rules.
 
 
Article II: Failure to Meet Membership Requirements
 
1. Any member of the Association not fulfilling the membership requirements shall by suspended from the Association.
 
2. The length of the suspension is solely decided by the Executive Committee.
 
3. To be reinstated, the member must successfully complete the Apprentice Program.

 
Article III: Appeals
 
1. Any member suspended shall have the right to appeal.
 
2. The appeal should be made directly to the President, who will present it to the Executive Committee.
 
3. When a member is suspended, the Secretary/Treasurer shall notify all concerned that such a member shall no longer accept assignments or officiate as a member of this Association.
 

Article IV: Qualification of a New Hampshire Volleyball Officials’ Association Member
 
1. Applicants for active membership shall indicate their desire to join by contacting the Secretary/Treasurer.
 
2. Be at least 18 years of age.
 
3. Successfully complete the Apprentice Program which includes:
    a. Attending all Rule Interpretation Meetings and Clinics held for applicants. 
    b. Paying a non-refundable fee equal to the sum of one (1) varsity match.
    c. Taking the Federation Volleyball exam on the first Sunday of August and passing with a score of 80% or better.
    d. Passing a mechanics (floor) test, which is administered by the Apprentice Committee. 
    
 
Article V: Transfer of Membership
 
1. If a rated Federation Volleyball Official from another state seeks to become a member of our
Association, they must complete the following:
    a. Attend an Annual Rules Interpretation Meeting.
    b. Pass the Federation Volleyball exam with a score of 80% or better.
    c. Pay annual dues equal to the sum determined by the membership at the Annual Business Meeting.
    d. Pass the mechanics test.
 
Article VI: Inactive Membership
 
1. A member may become inactive for a period of no more than two (2) years in succession, unless approved by the Executive Committee. Notification must be made in writing to the President and received by April 1, in order for a refund of half the dues. 
 
2. Reasons for inactive membership are:
    a. temporary relocation
    b. illness or injury
    c. actively coaching
    d. official’s request, when accepted by the Executive Committee.
 
3. Status of Inactive Members
    a. Will remain in good standing by paying half the annual dues.
    b. Will appear on the membership lists as inactive.
    c. Will lose all voting privileges.
    d. Will be ineligible to officiate NHIAA sanctioned games. 
 
4. Reinstatement of Inactive Members:
    a. Must fulfill all membership requirements. 
 

Article VII: Fees
 
1. Fees and mileage to be charged will be a current NHIAA rate.
 

Article VIII: Rights and Privileges
 
1. As long as a member shall remain in good standing, they shall be entitled to the rights and privileges of
membership and shall be bound by the Constitution and By - Laws of the Association.
