Welcome!

The NHVOA is recognized by the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association (NHIAA) as the officials' organization used for high school volleyball matches in New Hampshire. All New Hampshire High Schools use the National Federation of State High Schools Association (NFHS) Volleyball Rules in their contests. The NHVOA strives to provide qualified volleyball officials for the betterment of the game.

Who Must Attend the Rules Interpretation?
All patched officials and second and third year apprentices are required to attend one rules interpretation per year. 


2025-2026 Volleyball Test
​Due August 25, 2025

All patched officials and second and third-year apprentices are required to take the online test each year.  The 50-question online test is available online on the Arbiter. Officials have two attempts to earn a minimum score of 80%. To take the test go to the Arbiter and login to the NHIAA Central Hub and then choose Testing on the main menu.

Sunday, September 21
In-Season Clinic, PSU Gym
The In-Season Clinic for the 2025-2026 will be held on a Sunday, September 21 at the Plymouth State University Gym. Officials must attend one In-Season Clinic every two years. It is a great way to connect with other officials to review rules, mechanics, and other in-season officiating issues.

Fall 2025 Important Information

The Fall 2025 Volleyball Season begins in mid August. Here are a few things to remember as we go through the season.

2026-2027 NHVOA Dues

All patched and apprenticed officials are required to pay NHVOA and NHIAA dues. The NHVOA Dues for the 2026-2027 are due by November 1, 2025. NHIAA enrollment dues are paid in April.

NHIAA Enrollment

All officials must be enrollment with the NHIAA in order to officiate high school varsity, junior varsity and freshmen matches. The cost for registration is $65.00 per year regardless of the number of sports you officiate. To register login into ​Arbiter Sports and select NHIAA Central Hub from your “switch views menu” at the top right. Select Registration in the Main Menu. Add ALL sports you plan to officiate during your initial registration.

As an enrolled official with NHIAA, you will have the ArbiterConnected App at no additional cost.  Information about this service is posted on the NHIAA Arbiter home page.

Interested in becoming a Volleyball Official? The 2023-2024 NHVOA Apprentice Program is ongoing and begins in January of each year. We accept applications throughout the year! Go to our Apprentice Page  for more information!
